Morning Prayer

Lord, God Almighty, open my mind so that I might know our truth, Open my heart so that I may live according to Your will, Open my lips so that I may only proclaim your words and truth to all I encounter, I ask this in the name of my redeemer and savior, Jesus Christ, your son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, One God, now and forever.

Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done her on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive our trespassers. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from all evil, Deliver us Lord, from every evil and grant us peace in our day. In your mercy keep us free from sin and protect us from all anxiety as we wait in joyful hope for the coming of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory now and forever. AMEN

Glory Be The Father

Glory be to The Father, and to the Son and To the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. AMEN

Most High, Glorious God, enlighten the darkness of my mind. Give me a right faith, a firm hope and a perfect charity, so that I may always and in all ways and things act according to Your Holy Will.

A Sinner’s Prayer

By Rev. Robert Johnnene OFM, Dec. 8, 1957

O May Immaculate, Virgin so fair, Mother of our Savior, please hear my prayers. Intercede, dearest Mother, to your heavenly Son, Tell Him I am truly sorry for all the wrongs and sins I have done. Ask Him to guide me by the gifts of the Holy Spirit’s truth in all of my ways so that I may give Him glory, honor and praise with all the heavenly elect when I come to the end of my earthly days.

1998 by Rev. Robert Johnnene OFM

Almighty God, I give you my hands to do Your work; I give you my feet to go Your way; I give you my eyes to see as You do; I give you my tongue to speak Your words; I give you my mind that You may think in me; I give you my spirit that You may pray in me; Above all, I give you my heart that You may love in and through me all to whom I come in contact with each and every day. I dedicate myself to do Your will in all things and to become an instrument through which You might bring peace and harmony to all your children here on earth.

Peace and Reconciliation Prayer

By Rev. Robert Johnnene OFM

Mission Saints Sergius and Bacchus

Almighty and Merciful God, our father, send your Most Holy Spirit down upon us gathered here and all the leaders of all Christian churches, opening our minds and hearts to the truthful teachings of your beloved son, Jesus Christ, our redeemer and savior.

Help us and all to work together in Lord renewing and restoring the One Holly Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by you and your beloved son when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles that first Pentecost.

By the gifts of the Holy Spirit gather all who believe the truth of Jesus teachings together to work in bringing about unity and to practice respect and dignity for all God’s children throughout the entire world.

Inspire all the leaders of the world’s nations to find a means of bringing about an end to the atrocities and horrors of war and the genocide being committed often in your name O God. Through the Holy Spirit, inspire all the peoples of the world to become more mindful of the needs of others especially the poor, aged, sick and downcast of the world.

Open the minds of all people to be more tolerant of the differences and the diversity you created O God.

Instill deep within our hearts your wisdom and truth, we ask this in the name of your beloved son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit as one God, now and forever.

By Rev. Robert Johnnene OFM, March 24th 2006

Mission Saints Sergius and Bacchus

Almighty and merciful God, open my mind, my heart, and my soul to your infinite love. Instill within me the knowledge of your truth. Guide me in your ways in all the things I do so that I may be unto others a reflection of your love towards them. Allow the light of your truth to flow through me towards them in order that they may come to know you better. I pray that all those with whom I come in contact with each and every day may be brought into a closer union with you and enjoy the promise of Your salvation earned through your beloved son, Jesus Christ, in His passion, death, resurrection and ascension. I humbly ask this in the name of your beloved son, Jesus Christ, who lives, and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, One God, now and forever unto the ages of ages.

Prayer For GLBT Christians

Based on a prayer of the Ministry to Gay and Lesbian Catholics of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles with additions

by Rev. Robert Johnnene OFM

Lord, you are my shepherd, the one who knows my voice and my heart and calls me by name. You gather me up and hold me close and feed me. You strengthen me when I am weak, heal me when I am sick and bind up my wounds when I am hurt by physical, verbal or other abuse. Lord you are my shepherd, the one who refreshes my soul, invites me to partake at your table and welcomes me to dwell in your house.

I am your homosexual child, baptized into your flock, O Lord.

My family and I cry out to you for shepherds here on earth in our churches, ourselves and neighbors, who, like you, know us and respect us and welcome us into their home to share at their table. We love you and desire to be forever in your company so that we might praise you and thank you for ever and ever.

Salve Regina

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, Hail, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To you we cry, the children of eve; to you we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this land of exile. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us; lead us home at last and show us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus;

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary, Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.

Morning Prayer of St. Francis

Almighty, most holy most high and supreme God, all good, supreme good, totally good, You Who alone are good, may we give back to you all praise, all glory, all grace, all honor, all blessing, and all good. So be it, so be it.

Prayer of Saint Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, let me sow pardon; where there is doubt, let me sow faith; where there is despair, let me sow hope; where there is darkness, let me sow light; where there is sadness, let me sow joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying, that we are born into eternal life.

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, make me holy. Body of Christ, save me, Blood of Christ, fill me with love. Water from the side of Christ, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O Good Jesus, hear me. Within Your wounds, hide me. Never let me be parted from You. From all the snares of the evil one, protect me. At the hour of my death, call me. Tell me to come to You so that with all Your saints I may praise you for all eternity.

Prayer at Foot of Cross

Look down upon me good and gentle Jesus, whole before you face I humbly kneel (stand/sit/lay). I pray and beseech you to fix within my heart lively sentiments of Faith, Hope and Charity true contrition for my sins and a firm purpose of amendment. I contemplate with great love and tender pity your five wounds, pondering over them within me. I call to mind the words which David, your prophet, said of you my Jesus, “They will pierce your hands and your feet, they will number all your bones. (Say one our Father, one Hail Mary and One Glory be)
